A/Prof Oyuka Byambasuren Awarded a coveted 2024 Medical Research Future Fund!

The funding will support a national research project to improve care for people living with Long COVID, a condition affecting an estimated one in ten people infected with COVID‑19. In Australia alone, more than one million people may be living with Long COVID, yet there is currently no approved treatment and access to coordinated care remains limited.

Led by Dr Byambasuren, and in collaboration with colleagues from the University of Queensland, University of Wollongong, University of New England, University of Sydney, Monash University, and Queensland University of Technology, the project will develop and evaluate a new national model of care - known as BEACON - which will be designed to be practical, sustainable and accessible.
