PhD Candidate Gemma Altinger awarded The Lisa Schwartz Prize!

The Lisa Schwartz Prize honours the life and work of Dr. Lisa Schwartz. A physician and researcher, she dedicated her career to helping doctors, patients, journalists, policy makers, and the public understand the benefits, risks and limitations of medicine, enabling them to make wiser health decisions. Dr. Schwartz was a person of tremendous integrity, kindness and compassion, a brilliant thinker, writer, colleague, clinician, mentor and friend. 

Abstracts from early career professional were shortlisted based on quality, addressing an issue of relevance to Lisa’s work and interests, and consistent with Lisa’s vision and values. Presentations were then assessed on 1. originality of thought; 2. high quality science; 3. relevance to vision and values of Lisa’s research; and 4. clarity of presentation.
